Janie Miller has taught in the New Philadelphia Schools for 21 years. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood from Kent State University. She completed her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education in 1996 and Technology Endorsement in 1998 from Malone
College. Janie continues to attend numerous early childhood development and educational workshops each year.

She began teaching first grade, kindergarten and presently teaches preschool intervention at South Elementary where she works with children who have handicapping conditions such as visual and hearing impairments, autism, and language and developmental delays. Her teaching style is full of creativity and enthusiasm.

She is also active throughout the community. Janie received the 2004 Distinguished Alumni
Award from Kent State Tuscarawas. She is married to Greg Miller and they have three sons: Joshua, Jordan, and Joel.
