Mr. Scott Houmard has taught at New Philadelphia High School for 13 years. During those years, he has taught Physical Science, Tech Prep Advanced Science, Biology, Physics, Career Applied Science, Chemistry, and Forensics. Scott is a Massillon Washington High School graduate and a graduate of Malone College. He went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration in 2001 from Ashland University. He continues to attend many science and educational workshops each year. Scott advises the Science Club, Academic Challenge Team, Science Olympiad Team, and Summer Science Camp. He is also the chairperson of the district Local Professional Development Committee. He was named to Who’s Who Among American Teachers in 2001. Scott received the New Philadelphia City School’s Educator of the Year Award in 2004 and he was named the Tuscarawas County Educator of the Year in 2005. He is also active in the community and in his church. Scott is currently single and resides in Massillon.Return to Jackson Teaching Award Page
